Taylor is a small business owner and volunteer firefighter. He feels responsible for his father's death from a fire, but refuses to talk to anyone about it. Denise is a single mother to Kyle, a four year old who is speech delayed. Taylor rescues Denise when she wrecks her car in a bad storm, and then finds Kyle in the swamp after he ran away from the crash. Denise sees Taylor around town and against her better judgement begins a relationship with him. She likes the way he treats Kyle like he's just like any other little boy. Unfortunately, the relationship hits a roadblock when Taylor won't open up about his father. Can the couple get past this, and will Taylor ever open up?
