The Smartest Kids in the World: And How They Got That Way
by Amanda Ripley
This book was very interesting. I think the concept of interviewing students who go study in countries that have what are considered better education system is brilliant. As the author says, these students would have a view that those who study learning would not. I appreciate the stories of the individual students highlighted and their perspectives. I do believe that at some points the author presented a kind of opinionated point of view that I do not expect from a researcher. In addition, I feel like she continues the trend of emphasizing testing as the best way to determine learning although she is critical of it in some places. All in all it is a good read about education and I recommend it.
