She Persisted: 13 American Women Who Changed the World by Chelsea Clinton

4.0

Boiger's ink & watercolor illustrations show friendly-looking, diverse children perusing a museum, and then friendly-looking, diverse girls growing up to be women who "persisted" sufficiently despite obstacles including racism, sexism, ableism, and classism to become famous and effective agents of change.

The drawback is that each double-page spread is too brief to offer much insight into the lives of the 13 women chosen by Chelsea Clinton.

The highlight - besides the beautiful illustrations by Boiger, are the single quotes from each of the women that offer children a message of motivation and focus directly from the women themselves.
