The Last Windwitch by Jennifer Adam

5.0

A lovely tale of a young hedge witch apprentice named Brida that find herself in the center of a struggle between the evil witch of crows and nature itself. Although Brida has always felt like she has failed as a hedge witch apprentice, she begins to discover that there may be more to her magic and her past than she ever realized.

The Last Windwitch builds a beautiful world of magic in The Last Windwitch. The lore is smoothly built into the story and we learn more as we read through the story. The world is slowly built so it never feels like a narrative world building dump on the reader. The characters all complex, but still fit into this fairytale/middle grade story.

My only complaint was that the ending could have been stretched out a bit. It felt a tad bit rushed. But it was still enjoyable. Overall, I would give this story 4.5/5.
