This was a cute story and well illustrated by the author. The main character is Igraine who knows a little magic and wants to be a knight. Her older brother, Arthur has learned magic and likes mice.
Her parents are magicians and keep the singing magic books safe. A new neighbor with his castellan want to seize the castle and steal the books.
Meanwhile a spell goes awry turning the parents into pigs. They need the red hair of a giant to break the spell. Igraine goes with her trusted stallion. She meets the giant and he gives her a lock of his hair as well as introduces her to a Knight who sighs because he has been dishonorable. He was supposed to guard three women but lost them to Rowan the castellan.
The two return to the castle and the adventure continues.
