re-review (december 18, 2019): 4 stars

look, nothing can beat garrett and wellsy. edit to previous reviews: the suicide jokes kennedy makes are about as bad as the ones i make now, so truly not bad at all. sure, garrett and hannah's reactions to their situations may be a bit over-simplified, but they still ring true. also, it's a romance novel, not the freaking DSM. yeah, gender stereotypes exist, but that's pretty much every romance novel. basically, it should actually be 3.5 stars, but i'm extremely sentimental to this series in particular as the first romance novel to actually be good enough to re-read, so still a solid 4 stars.

Re-Review (June 4th, 2017): 4.5 stars!

Finally, the book to get me out of my 5-month reading slump. I knew some good ol' Off-Campus would do it. Sure, there's some tongue-in-cheek gender stereotypes that bothered me a little since I'm agender as fuck. And there were some off-hand jokes about self-harm and suicide that personally triggered me, though I doubt those jokes would trigger anyone else without a history of that stuff. I also thought Garrett's and Hannah's emotional reactions to their situations were a bit over-simplified, but I wasn't expecting a completely accurate depiction of how people going through
Spoilerphysical / emotional abuse & rape
feel. It portrayed their situations in a broadly accurate light, while still being a damn good romance with lots of funny moments and some monologues that I related too damn hard to. Plus, I guess the sex scenes were steamy? Really, you shouldn't be asking the person who quits after watching 2 minutes of porn because sex with no storyline is too boring. Sure, I'm a sex-positive asexual, so I'll have sex if I need to -- doesn't mean I fin (edit: and this is where my review cuts off but wow i was certainly something when i was coming out)

original review (a date lost to time / lost bc goodreads sucks ass):

Oh, Garrett. You're breaking my heart over here! Why can't guys be this perfect in real life? And Hannah -- how do you feel about being my BFF? That weird look you're giving me better mean yes because I seriously need more of you and Garrett in my life. How about a sequel full of Garrett and Hannah bantering, laughing, and just having a good time? I would pay good money for it.
