Book Boyfriend by Kris Ripper

3.0

maybe now that i’ve left my gay romances phase i’m more critical of them, but either way, this was largely average. main character was a bit annoying, characters overall seemed very much like stereotypes rather than feeling real, but i don’t necessarily expect that from a silly little romcom, so alas. reasonable criticisms aside, i cannot even begin to express to you how painfully millennial this book was. i don’t know if this was the intention (though i highly doubt it, assuming this is exactly the kind of humour the author would prefer) but it was actually torturous to read at times. if you turned 21 before 2020 i’m sure this book will be enjoyable to you.

(self reflection throughout the course of writing this review has shown me that my issue is that this is very much stereotypically romcom and i cannot stand romcom, even when it’s gay, so disregard or regard my opinion as you may with that knowledge in mind)
