I liked this book very much! Bina is a sympathetic, thoroughly developed protagonist and her experiences during the summer between 7th and 8th grade will resonate with both adult and middle grade readers, something that's challenging to get right.
At the start of the story, Bina is moving into that awkward early-teens transitional period, where she can't quite hang with the older kids but her peers are developing a range of disparate interests.
I would recommend this one to a wide range of ages, and i hope it inspires a new generation of kids to pick up musical instruments!
