Never Stay Gone by Tal Bauer
4.5

Tal, once again, making good gay romances. Though in this book I'd admit that it didn't feel much of a romance. I'm probably just not the type to enjoy the second chance trope though. The first half being a buildup to their relationship and the second half being focused more on the murders was a good structure. It felt nice knowing that the romance wasnt going to be an issue alongside the murders for the entire book. The crime plot had me hooked the entire time and I was speculating hard about who did it. It was a good read, as per usual with Tal. The romance lacked a little and I wanted to see a slower burn with more development than a heated night. But alas this had two issues to tackle so I can understand why it wasn't romance focused. Still good though
