This book was a bit of a mess, but I enjoyed it. It doesn’t really know what it wants to be - part sci-fi, romance, political/spy thriller, comedy, social commentary.

But I love the fact that the author developed a crush on a real-life polar explorer from a doomed expedition in the 1800s, transported him to our time, and brought him to life.
