What a fun story and the easiest MC to root for. This was such a refreshing read because I've been wanting more magic realism and adventure-y plots without silly romance drama or smut. The world-building was smart, I didn't see all the twists coming, and technical aspects were well-done. Some characters felt a bit trope-ish, but I'm not minding too much.

Pick up if you enjoyed Harry Potter (Rowling), The Lightning Thief (Riordan), and/or Legendborn (Deonn).
