Overall I enjoyed it. I could've done without the brief animal cruelty and pedophilia but I understand what those elements added to the story. I really enjoyed the unique use of senses and I found the symbolism easy to see without being too obvious, although I plan to read up on other reviews of other literary devices found in the book. I will add more to my reflection as some time passes. I thought it was a good reflection of how personal characteristics can be seen as making a person moral or desirable, but in reality the characteristic itself is amoral at best. An example in society is beauty. And, often times having such a such trait leads to more opportunity for immorality.
Minor: Animal cruelty, Pedophilia
