Hidden Nature
by Nora Roberts
audiobook review
January LaVoy does a beautiful job narrating this book.
The pace was quite slow and then about half way through picks up.
This was my first Nora Roberts novel (I usually read from sport romance to dark romance to suspense romance).
This book focuses on our FMC Sloane who is injured on the job and returns to her small town home to recover. Our MMC Jonas has just purchased a property with his brother and plans to start their construction business.
When someone from the small town disappears, Sloane starts to investigate and things start to come into place.
what I loved:
How the romance between Sloane and Jonas progresses slowly, naturally and is very emotionally mature.
The family support and sense of community in the town.
Getting glimpses of Sloane's job and training.
The underlying serial killer story.
This was a well written story and I enjoyed the character development and recovery. I do wish the ending/climax was a bit more dramatic however, I don't know if that's because I read heavier so this is just an opinion based off this.
I would recommend this book. I give it a 4.5⭐
