A Treacherous Performance by Lynn Messina

4.0

Better than the 4th book but not as good as the first 3 books in the series.

Part of my problem with this series is that the murderer never faces any consequences for their action. Also, I did not care too much for justice regarding the death of someone who was willing to do something so horrible to a lady of that time period. The fact that no one ever faces true charges and punishment is strange to me. Of course, I overlook this because the back and forth between Bea and Damien is just so good. In my opinion the romance is definitely what carries this book.

I'm glad that I have some time before the 6th book comes out, because I think that this is the perfect time to take a break from this series and read something else.

*** Almost great read, 3.5 star ***
