so, this started out FAST, and i truly appreciate it, honestly. nothing more boring than a thriller that drags it out.
three point five stars because i devoured this book after being in a reading slump for so long. three point five stars because it reads like a movie or a few limited episodes in a streaming service. for a debut novel, it did the job!
the plot is gripping and i appreciate that it took me a while to catch on what was going on, but once i did, i was eager to see where exactly the author was taking it. i read about half of it when it first came out and life happened and i never finished it, so i was wondering where and how the second book fits in. i’m ready to see how the characters deal with the aftermath of the bayou butcher, and i cannot wait to see what the bayou butcher gets into next!
