Okay Tristan might be my new favorite character in the entire World of New Camelot/Thornchapel/ Lyonesse. He is just so good and honorable like Embry and so accepting of his submission like Greer and as stoic as Ash and Auden and as helplessly in love like Saint.

In contrast to New Camelot, where Embry and Greer were connected mostly through Ash and for a long time their bond seemed weaker than either of their bonds to Ash, here I feel that the bond between Tristan and Isolde is absolutely equally strong and its own thing independently from their dynamics with Mark. This makes me super excited to see how their dynamics and their relationships as a three will develop in the future.

Also Tristans understanding of Kink and Submission is the most aligned with my own whereas I couldn’t relate to Greer’s idea of submission at all since it was based on service and Embry’s was filled with more fight than I feel. Tristan is beautiful in his submission because he wants to push boundaries and submit for him because it is right for him, wants to take pain so see if he can endure, in contrast to Embry and Greer whose suffering was for Ash, and they endure for him, gifting him their pain. Tristans pain is his own, he loves the pain coming from Mark but doesn’t endure for his sake but rather because it calms his mind. I relate to that feeling. Aaaanyways I love the new Trio and am super excited for the next books.
