I got this on kindle—for too much money—and I was immediately put off by the writing. It was so bad. But to make it worse, this story appears like it was written by a tween. It is so fast-paced, the characters are over-dramatic and non-sensical (not to mention the plot).
I didn't go into this book expecting it to be so bad. I had no clue about the controversy surrounding Goodkind until after I DNF'd this book, as I was a big fan of the T.V. show that is based off this book series—it was filmed in NZ, my home, and I was missing home at the time and have no problem with fun and action-packed fantasy shows (even if the writing isn't awesome), but this book was an immediate no. Was very disappointed, but after learning more about Goodkind, I don't feel very inclined to pick this series up and try again. I think it would be a waste of time, and would cost me more than I'm willing to give.
