The Widow by Fiona Barton

First line: “I can hear the sound of her crunching up the path.

I did really enjoy this novel....but I have to say looking back it was really long-winded in places (I.e. the actual whodunnit and how’d it happen) when it could have just cut to the chase....

I really don’t want to give anything away, so I will try to keep this short. Once we finally get to who committed the crime, we get to wondering HOW did the death of the victim actually occur as it is never explicitly stated.

This novel could have been a LOT more succinct in the storytelling...I will be looking out for this author in the future as this book did hold promise for something good...and who knows? Maybe the next book will really knock me off my feet, as it were.
