Cleopatra: A Life by Stacy Schiff
4.0

Well written and concise account of what we know about Cleopatra. An amalgamation of modern and ancient records. Schiff implies that she is giving us the story free of its legendary trappings, usually steeped in a sexed up Cleo, but the book provides us with few revelations. If you saw the movie that might be just alright with you. At least it also had that fabulous wardrobe.

Worth the read if you like ancient history and want it in a palatable, popular format.
