I Suck at Girls by Justin Halpern
4.0
4.5 stars: 4 stars for the book, and an extra half star for the incredible voice talent of Sean Schemmel. I read Justin's first title, though after listening to this one, I am certain I missed out by not hearing Schemmel narrate it. His voices are so different (and he nails the dad voice!), if I didn't know better I would guess they were multiple voice actors. Supremely well done!
Now then, the book. Halpern is funny, and writes in an approachable, laugh-out-loud sort of way. My favorite parts were any time his dad was present, though the rest is good too. I didn't care for some of the analogies, but they weren't anything that ruined the story for me.
I watched the first (and only??) season of Surviving Jack, which is based on this book, and me and my sons loved it. It's honest and funny with a dash of sweet, just like the book.
