Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead by Olga Tokarczuk
5.0
This is a great book that I bet won't appeal to a lot of people. The narrator is an old woman in rural Poland; the story is understated and pretty slow. But it's beautifully written, clever, and surprising in subtle and obvious ways.
The audiobook narrator, Beata Pozniak, is a delight. It's possible I wouldn't have liked the book as much as I did were it not for her endearing reading style (though full disclosure: she is a slow reader and I increased the speed of the audiobook to 1.25.)
