Η πορεία της μπάντας του Billy Dunne, The Six, αλλάζει όταν προστίθεται η ανερχόμενη τραγουδίστρια Daisy Jones. Η συνεργασία τους θα γεννήσει ένα θρύλο, θα είναι εκρηκτική και καταλυτική. Αλλά όσο γραφτό ήταν να ξεκινήσει άλλο τόσο γραφτό ήταν να μην κρατήσει.
Χρόνια αργότερα σε μία σειρά συνεντεύξεων η Daisy, ο Billy, ο Graham, ο Warren, η Karen κ.α. μιλάνε όσο ειλικρινά γίνεται, και συχνά με αντικρουόμενες καταθέσεις, για όσα συνέβησαν πριν, κατά τη διάρκεια και μετά την συνάντηση των δύο πλευρών και ρίχνουν φως στις πτυχές κάθε προσωπικής και επαγγελματικής ιστορίας που τους διαμόρφωσαν. Σεξ, ναρκωτικά, αλκοόλ, πάθος για μουσική, κυνήγι της επιτυχίας, επιθυμία να δοκιμαστούν τα όρια και ανάγκη να μην ξεπεραστούν με καταστροφικές συνέπειες.
Νοιάστηκα για κάθε χαρακτήρα (ναι ακόμα και για τον Eddie,) γιατί τα συναισθήματα τους, τα όνειρα τους, οι ενδοιασμοί, η πίκρα βγαίνουν όλα αβίαστα και με τις εναλλαγές που πρέπει. Όλες οι αισθήσεις σε διέγερση μέχρι την κορύφωση.
Έκλαψα. Και αυτό ήταν καλό. Αν γράφει έτσι και στα άλλα της βιβλία θα είναι ακόμα καλύτερα (για μένα!)
Μοιάζει να γράφτηκε για να γίνει ηχητικό βιβλίο και ισχύει. Πρόκειται για μία από τις καλύτερες παραγωγές audiobook. Αν έχετε τη δυνατότητα ακούστε το.
«Το πάθος είναι... είναι φωτιά. Και η φωτιά είναι μεγάλη, φίλε. Αλλά είμαστε φτιαγμένοι από νερό. Το νερό είναι ο τρόπος για να συνεχίζουμε να ζούμε. Το νερό είναι αυτό που χρειαζόμαστε για να επιβιώσουμε.»

The trajectory of Billy Dunne's band, The Six, changes when up-and-coming singer Daisy Jones is added to their ensemble. Their collaboration will give birth to a legend, it will be explosive and catalytic. But as much as it was meant to begin, it was also meant not to last.
Years later in a series of interviews Daisy, Billy, Graham, Warren, Karen and others, speak as candidly as possible, and often with conflicting accounts, about what happened before, during and after the two sides met and shed light on the aspects of each personal and professional story that shaped them. Sex, drugs, alcohol, passion for music, the pursuit of success, the desire to test the limits and the need not to cross them with disastrous consequences.
I cared about every character (yes, even Eddie,) because their feelings, their dreams, their misgivings, their bitterness about everything that feels unfinished all come out effortlessly and with just the perfect changes in povs. Senses are stimulated all the way to climax.
I cried. And that was good. If she writes like this in her other books it will be even better (for me!)
It looks like it was written to be an audiobook and it is. This is one of the best audiobook productions. If you can, listen to it. I will watch the tv series too 😍
