Practically perfect

If someone were to describe to you the structure and concept of this novel, you probably wouldn’t read it. I suspect I wouldn’t have done.

I’d have missed out on one of the best things I’ve read in years. The interlinked characters and stories absorb you immediately and it never feels ‘clever’, or pleased with itself, or contrived. In fact, it achieves that magic that few novels can - you forget entirely that you are reading at all, and live completely inside the book while it’s in your hand.

The author’s prose is like a reflection of your own inner monologue, reminding you how ultimately similar all us human beings are.

Beautifully written, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. I think I’ll be reading this every year or two for the rest of my life.
