Maybe if I didn't know what this was based on.... but there's just something about turning a horror folktale into some creative writing mfa litfic bs that just pisses me off

for a story about a virus, it sure didn't include it until the end. it's weird talking about all the many people you've had sex with in an "inventory". the whole virus part just seemed to be thrown in just to give this story a sense of substance
