Nevernight by Jay Kristoff
5.0
Wow. Just wow. This was absolutely masterful. Jay Kristoff definitely knows how to write his characters, and he strings you a tiny thread to hold whilst reading the story of Mia Corvere.
Nevernight is about a girl named Mia who has everything taken from her as a child - her home, her life and her family. From there she vows she will take revenge, but first she must train amongst assassins at the Red Church, and become a blade. But Mia is different from other Acolytes, she holds the shadows close, and they her.
Every time I thought I knew something, I was wrong. I was blown away by the amount of plot twists in here, and some of them seriously broke me. I fell hard for some of these characters (especially Mia & Tric, and lets not forget Mister Kindly). And damn the smutty scenes in here? I’m not usually a fan of romance but all I can say is they were hot. I was really happy that Mia wasn’t heartless. She murders without question or guilt, but she lets her true feelings show from time to time, which made her really likeable for me.
Overall, this experience was incredible. Every word was masterful and I can’t wait to continue.
