oof it is a weird time to read this book. maybe if Israel were not doing a genocide in Gaza at this very moment, I'd have been able to enjoy this more? like, it's fun, there's nothing here that I specifically found offensive (though I may just not know enough to evaluate it), but the fun-ness itself felt glib and not right, in this current moment.
