After reading all "The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo," "Daisy Jones and the Six," and now "Malibu Rising," I can confidently say I'm destroyed! 🥰 Taylor Jenkins Reid is an absolutely fantastic author and I loved all three of these stories. Evelyn made me cry, Daisy entertained me greatly, and Malibu Rising really made me think. The themes about family, love, and what our parents pass on to us are all extremely well written. A relatively fast read as the story takes place over the course of 1 day and is explained over many years. Also!! I absolutely love the way that the very first page talks about fire not only connects to the literal fire at the end of the novel but also the turmoil between characters and within themselves. Definitely worth the read after those other two books 😉
Graphic: Alcoholism, Suicide, and Abandonment
Moderate: Infidelity and Sexual harassment
