I read this after reading the Silo series. Unfortunately it did not grip me as hard as those books. It does have an interesting story that is being told, and characters that really begin to be fleshed out. But the world building left me wanting. There were a few things, like the dive-suits, which the reader was expected to figure out. Which I did, but I was curious how this world came to be, why do they have dive suits at all. Still, an enjoyable story, with villains that come out of left field with a literal bomb. It's definitely a problem, but it felt so out of place in the post-apocalyptic world. I have enough juice left to read the sequel, I'm curious to see where the author could go from here.
