OMG, this went on forever. I was reading it on the kindle so it was hard to see how big a book it was but I kept thinking I must be getting near the end and I'd look down and see I was only 40% the way through. These are obviously collected from magazine stories, often in wine magazines, and they probably went down more easily there. But collected, there's just too much. Too much name dropping (Mario Batali shows up dozens of times), too much self-pity (I have to support so many people; why do they love me more in France than in the U.S.?), too many truffles, and way too much wine. Probably better if you're really interested in wine.
