I really wanted to like this book especially since I loved TSLD but it fell flat for me.
The story seemed all over the place. There were too many tropes competing with each other that it felt like there wasn’t a true focus to the plot. Most of the time, I kept wondering what, exactly, was the main plot? Rosie and Lucas also weren’t very captivating as main characters or as a couple and sadly, even the cameos from Lina and Aaron didn’t stir much interest in me. And why did we have the side drama with Ollie when it ended in such a lacklustre way?
Halfway through, I just wanted it to be over but stubbornly refused to DNF it so ended up feeling like a hostage until finally finishing it.
