I had to read this one twice to get it. The first time around I thought the writing was simplistic and the story was irrelevant. The 2nd time was for a class I was taking and I learned that I had to read between the lines to understand what Hemingway was trying to say. It's a story of privileged people who don't know how to be happy. They seemingly have everything but are empty on the inside. I'm fascinated more with Hemingway the man but not so much his writing.
