I Who Have Never Known Men by Jacqueline Harpman
4.0
I read this book very quickly and enjoyed it. However, I don't believe it is life changing like a lot of the reviews I have read. The characters all feel really underdeveloped and you know nothing more than you knew at the start of the book, at the end. I recognise that things don't always have to be neatly tied up but it frustrated me not knowing what all this was for!
I'm going out on a limb here and believe that the main character (whose name we never know) may have been Autistic (hard relate as someone with Autism!).
Its a good reflection on loneliness. One of my favourite lines: I wondered what would make me stop, wether it would be hunger, sleep or boredom- In other words, what prompts decisions when you are utterly alone.
