There Are Rivers in the Sky by Elif Shafak
4.0
i really liked this one. Shafak really excelled with the writing, albeit very flowery. the structure of the novel following the chemical structure of water with water being the central theme and focus was a really innovative and smart way to tell a story. however, Zaleekah’s perspective was really boring in my opinion and didn’t really add a ton to the overall plot. Arthur and Narin’s chapters were really engaging and well done. could’ve benefited slightly from some more editing. overall, a really interesting way to tell a story with a solid cast of characters.
