Strong start, but never gets memorable after that. All the characters are incredibly unlikable. This is mostly a mystery book, but characters put in almost no work to gather a clue to the puzzle, and when they do, it ends up being weird and perverted, and not in an edgy way, it's just annoying and boring while solving nothing but acting like it did, has nothing to do with the story too. Nothing keeps you intrigued to keep reading, no sense of threat at all. The concept is better executed in both American and Japanese film adaptations.
