I was really excited to read this book because the description seemed great. Unfortunately, I found myself fighting to finish this book and I almost wish I had just DNF'd it. A huge portion of the book is essentially a training montage for Ary which is great to read about for a couple pages, not multiple chapters back to back. It immediately made me lose interest and grow bored. Another issue that I had was with Ary constantly saying that she doesnt have a choice with her life but she does have a choice with who she loves/cares for. Great, super cute. Loved it the first time but after that sentiment gets repeated over and over, nearly every conversation, I found my patience growing thin. Lastly, I found the plot very predictable. At no point was I surprised and the only part that really peaked my interest was Ary discovering her powers and how she selected them. I'm sure for some people this book will be right up their alley, unfortunately, it just wasn't for me.
