Tiamat's Wrath by James S.A. Corey

5.0

Tiamat's Wrath was a bit slow to start for me, but once I got into the rhythm?? It was amaaaaazing!

I was pretty curious about the overall progress of the story in this book, considering what happened in the previous installment, so there was a sense of tension and dread (personally) when I finally started this. And the plot did deliver on the shenanigans and world-building development! I felt like there was a lot of information we already had an idea about and was all finally confirmed here in explicit words. And that made me nervous lol

One surprise here was that I actually enjoyed every single POV character! There wasn't even one chapter where I was bored or had difficulty with connecting with a character's voice and perspective. That made this such a quick and entertaining read and really added to my feelings of concern in regard to what was going on.

And the Roci! The crew! There were so many moments throughout the second half where I almost teared up. I really felt like I'd been with these people for decades and it was a somewhat bittersweet treat to follow along their journey here--even more so considering some of major twists.

I also thought this book did a great job at setting things up for the finale! There were a lot of moving pieces and a lot of incredibly important changes to the board and its players here. I have no damn clue what's going to happen next and I honestly can't waaaait to finish the series.
