The Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum

๐ง๐๐ ๐ช๐๐ญ๐๐ฅ๐ ๐ข๐ ๐ข๐ญ ๐ฏ๐ ๐๏ฝก ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐ธ ๐๐ฎ๐๐บ completely surprised me โ in the best way! This was my first time reading it, and I was amazed to discover just how different it is from the iconic movie. Dorothyโs shoes are actually silver (not ruby!), and so many other details I thought I knew came straight from the film rather than the book.
This edition was gifted to me by my daughter โ a stunning MacMillan Collectorโs Library copy, and I absolutely love this collection. It made the experience even more special.
The story itself is such a charming, fast-paced adventure filled with heart, courage, and friendship. Yes, itโs a little darker and more violent than I expected for a childrenโs book, but it reflects a different time in storytelling. I adored following Dorothy, Toto, and her new friends down the yellow brick road.
