This was my first time reading it, and I was amazed to discover just how different it is from the iconic movie. Dorothyโ€™s shoes are actually silver (not ruby!), and so many other details I thought I knew came straight from the film rather than the book.

This edition was gifted to me by my daughter โ€” a stunning MacMillan Collectorโ€™s Library copy, and I absolutely love this collection. It made the experience even more special.

The story itself is such a charming, fast-paced adventure filled with heart, courage, and friendship. Yes, itโ€™s a little darker and more violent than I expected for a childrenโ€™s book, but it reflects a different time in storytelling. I adored following Dorothy, Toto, and her new friends down the yellow brick road.
