The Lost Boy: A Foster Child's Search for the Love of a Family by Dave Pelzer
4.0
What a heartbreaking sequel! I enjoyed this book more than the first, A Child Called It. I think it’s because I knew several boys when I was young that were so similar to David. They had so much potential but their home lives were so awful that they were branded “bad kids”. My husband was one who ultimately survived & thrived, although it took him longer than it did David. I still wonder if the other boys (and some girls) I knew survived to be healthy adults. I have nothing but praise for foster parents and wish my husband & I were in a position to become ones ourselves. I’m so glad he wrote this sequel so I could see how the rest of his life turned out.
