Oak Avenue by Brandi Reeds
4.0

Oak Avenue is part of the Dark Corners collection. The story follows Ana who moved to her husband Edison's hometown with their baby girl, Sabrina. However, Edison is often out of town for work and strange things start happening in their Victorian home. Things only get worse when an old door is found buried underneath a dead tree.
Oak Avenue is definitely creepy, and it is one of the more creepy Dark Corners stories. I felt for Ana because she was a stranger in a new home in a new town where everyone knew her husband but no one cared to even learn her name and would just call her Eddie's wife. I also disliked Edison from the start and the comments he made to Ana, and he just got worse as the story went on. As far as the ending, I felt like it abruptly ended and left some questions unanswered. That said, I did like reading Oak Avenue, and I would recommend it.
