Those Who Wait
by Haley Cass
This was my first Haley Cass book and Haley? You are an absolutely incredible writer. I read this in ebook format and audio so when I first saw the actual paperback I was so shocked that it was so thick because normally seeing a contemporary romance that size, i would be thinking it was too long. I did not feel that way at all about this book! This book made me feel every emotion at one point or another. I laughed, I cried, I swooned. Sutton Spencer was a lost little sweetheart just looking for a little guidance on her new path and she deserved the world. And Charlotte Thompson? GIRL. Charlotte Thompson is the girl that is so set in her ways mentally, but you can see with every action how much she just wants to love and be loved as soon as they start hanging out. Haley Cass's writing made me feel everything that these women were feeling so deeply. The amount of angst in this book and the internal struggle that Charlotte had to deal with was another layer that just made this book feel so real. The chemistry between Charlotte and Sutton was so clear and so sweet. They were made for each other and I immediately wanted to dive into the follow-up, "Forever and a Day." This will definitely be a comfort read/listen that I will be returning to often. Plus, Lori Prince as a narrator NEVER MISSES. I've always preferred duet narration, but Lori just seamlessly switches her tone and voice to make you feel like you're not missing a thing. If it's not already obvious, I freaking LOVED THIS BOOK.
