This book was interesting but not exactly what I was expecting. The first half of the title "The Rise of Addictive Technology" was absolutely covered, but I was looking for more on the second part "the Business of Keeping Us Hooked."
I appreciated the thoughtful study of addiction and the rise of newer types of behavioral addiction in terms of technology (HELLO fitness trackers... ugh!). However, I was hoping to get more about the design, marketing and strategy of the companies behind this rise. It was touched on but the focus of the text was much more on the science of addiction itself.
