I'm surprised I don't love this book! It was strongly and passionately recommended by Books and Things on YouTube and it's sweet and quirky and mysterious historical fiction, which I love. But I just can't pick the book back up each time and sometimes I don't know what's going on. It's like I can't keep the people straight, and I believe we shouldn't blame ourselves for that, even though I could make more of an effort. Maybe I will try again someday.
