A fairly good writing guide, the short essays and interviews with other authors were particularly interesting, as were the sections from Finch where VanderMeer explains how and why particular writing and revising decisions were made. The downsides were some design issues, the layout is cluttered and the guest sections often cut off other chapters mid-paragraph or even mid-sentence.
