What a wild ride! Did I always know what was going on? No. But how can you when the two main characters (twins) are contradicting each other's narrative from chapter to chapter? I found the writing captured the confusing experience of mental illness without trivialization, a not insignificant achievement. By the end I felt I had enough sense of the catch, per se, even if I didn't get every nuance or follow every small detail. I liked how themes of women and creativity and race and family and mental/physical health and friendship and work all intersected and were addressed. A wild ride.
