An Absolutely Remarkable Thing by Hank Green

funny mysterious medium-paced

While this was incredibly enjoyable once I finally got used to the writing style (it took about 70+ pages for me to adjust), I felt like I was expecting more. Stuff was happening but nothing super interesting happened until the last 50 pages or so. Also, April was starting to wear me out. She has a lot of Hank Green in her character, especially in her humour, which is perfectly fine, it makes for an energetic and quirky character, but there's only so much of that that I can handle before I start getting tired and/or annoyed. Moderation is key. I had to read this in little chunks because April was wearing me out so quickly if I read more than 30 pages in one sitting.
I will be reading the sequel though and it was still very entertaining, I have friends and family that may like this book as well so I'll definitely recommend it to them.
