I don’t think I’m ever going to read this author again after this book. I LOVED the north wind, I defended it!! But this book.. first of all the fat rep was NOT it. I don’t really feel like going into the free emotional labor as to why but I doubt a single sensitivity reader was used assuming this is not something that is the author’s lived experience. At times it wasn’t offensive it was just straight up odd and inaccurate.
The plot was just a bunch of random things happening. And I wasn’t interested in any of them. Way too much page time on an irredeemable side character. Also Mr West Wind changed so much from book one it felt like he some how got turned into a copy paste north wind which had me wondering if this author can only write the broody on the outside MMC when they are the main character.
I still gave this 2 stars vs 1 because I mean I finished it and I’m not overly
mad at this book, I’m just disappointed.
