I devoured this book so fast.
I read this book as a buddy read together with my friend and I'm so glad they helped me prioritize this book to read. It was amazing and I enjoyed it immensely.
The plot is at the same time very serious full of hard setbacks, but also full of funny sci-fi shenanigans. The mix between these two extremes was a lot of fun to have together in one book. It made me sob and laugh multiple times in a few minutes.
I loved the trans rep in this book and how our trans main character was supported by her chosen family. The world is pretty shit to us, and this book definitely showed that. But then seeing someone be okay and supported by community makes me smile a lot.
I also liked it that mother/daughter like relationships were a big theme. I read a lot of YA so very often the parerents are at least a little bit in the way of the teenagers plans. But here I felt like the relationships were more from the mothers angle and that was lovely to follow.
Last I just briefly want to say I loved the ending, but I won't say more than that.
