This review is for the audio book, copy provided by Libro.fm's ALC program. I really enjoyed the story, particularly the strongly developed characters whose perspectives drive the narrative. The characters feel distinct, having different life experiences, expectations, and disappointments. All of the characters are flawed yet sympathetic; I found Omelogor especially memorable. The storytelling is enhanced by the narration, including one perspective read by the author. One note: there are detailed descriptions of sexual assault that feature heavily in the story and may be triggering.
