Though there are some really good tear jerker moments and, c’mon, Vincente is the best- this book felt really empty to me. It’s over 400 pages and though a lot of key things happen it doesn’t feel like a lot actually happened.  The plot didn’t feel completely developed to me. I felt like I had to push myself through it.  I almost DNFed it because it was lagging so much for me.  I think this book is probably great for alot of people but it just didn’t click into place for me. 

At its core this is a book about family, and the complex diversity of the word and what it means. It isn’t just Salvodars family, but his best friends Sam and Fito too. 

The cover is amazing though. But the book is ultimately disappointing.
