It's Been a Pleasure, Noni Blake by Claire Christian

1.0

Basically whiny, boring porn in literary form, wherein the main character, Noni, mistakes "self-realization" and "pleasure seeking" with drunkenly fucking everyone that shows the vaguest interest in her. She is supposed to be "fat" and self conscious about it, but somehow magically, never actually suffers any of the condemnation, commentary, or indignities that actual fat people do. And every person she has even a whiff of attraction to is wildly attracted to her as well and can't wait to hop on the bone train. (Seriously, do any of these people have even the slightest concern about STDs?) Also, the death of her one night stand, who is referred to in passing once or twice throughout the entire book, and who initially SHE DOESN'T EVEN KNOW THE NAME OF, was a gross and ugly framing device that used that death purely to launch her on her drunken bed hopping tour of Australia and Europe. I should have stopped reading there, but I kept on in hopes that the humor and empowerment the reviews mentioned would come through. It didn't.
